Transnational Blended Training Mobility in Cyprus – C1

The Eco-Families project organised a three-day transnational blended training mobility from January 13th to 15th, in Cyprus. The Training was organised by CodeArrays and was held at the Environmental Centre of Athalassa, Nicosia. Educators from all partner countries participated in the Training. The partners presented the modules they developed for the project and participated in small activities for each module. They also had the chance to test the digital tools (Eco-Families Platform and app) developed within the framework of the project and provide their feedback. During the training, participants visited the A’ Primary School of Nisou, Cyprus, where they saw the school’s green initiatives, such as ‘Greening my school’, funded by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth and the Education Unit for the Environment and Sustainable Development. The teachers and children, with the support of the local Parents Association and their community, have designed and planted the school’s gardens and green spaces. Students of the school also recycle used cooking oil (through the Environmental Centre of Athallassa, which is then used for biodiesel) so that students can create various projects and crafts (pots, mosaic crafts, etc.). During the last day, educators of the Environmental Centre of Athalassa presented their work, initiatives for schools, teachers and parents and gave the participants a tour of the Centre. The participants then had a scavenger hunt around the lake in Athalassa’s Park.
